7.1.2 Methodology

The SESARF Roman section draws directly on the research agenda outlined in the 2012 National ScARF Roman Chapter (Hunter and Carruthers 2012). Most of it remains very relevant in the present context, as many of its research aspirations were not only apposite but remain unfulfilled. Elements also draw on research priorities identified within National ScARF Archaeological Science (Milek and Jones 2012). 

This framework is also informed by a number of existing policy and framework documents that set out existing priorities or create priorities with which it is useful to align. These include:  

  • Frontiers of Knowledge. A Research Framework for Hadrian’s Wall, Part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire World Heritage Site
