4.8 Conflict

While there is – as yet – no evidence from Scotland for conflict in the Palaeolithic or Mesolithic, it is important to remember that life in the Palaeolthic and Mesolithic would not have been a bucolic idyll and that there are sites across Europe with clear indications of violence during this period (Roksandic 2004).
