Our work is grounded in archaeology, but promotes interdisciplinary dialogue. The SPMA was founded in 1966 with the aim of promoting the archaeology of late medieval to industrial society in Britain, Europe and those countries influenced by European colonialism. The Society now covers the archaeology of the period up to the present day.
